Cardiganshire
In the top left corner of the map, a plan of Cardigan (Aberteifi) is shown,
with landmarks of the time, such as the Castle, St Mary's Church
and 'Pole Hey' (Pwllhai) included.
Beneath this, a compass is depicted, wonderfully decorated with the
feathers and coronet of the Prince of Wales, whilst Welsh Standard of the time,
and the arms of Thomas Brudenel, Earl of Cardigan
are illustrated on the opposite side of the map.
In addition to the towns and villages, rivers, forests, lakes and hills that are marked on the map,
bizarre creatures are to be found in the sea, with one fearsomely snorting water through its nostrils!
